Wines - Millton - Biodynamically Grown Grapes
Certified Organic with BioGro trademark
The Millton Vineyard specialises in making fine wine from estate grown grapes sourced from single vineyards. For more than a quarter of century these grapes have been grown in the traditional manner using biodynamic techniques. This involves growing the grapes without the use of herbicide, insecticide, systemic fungicides or soluble fertilisers. It also incorporates the use of special herbal preparations and teas, as well as a deep understanding of the complex cosmic rhythms which affect these daily activities. As well these wines carry the certified organic trademark BioGro, as well as the grower ID number on the back label. In 2009 our vineyards were certified biodynamic by Demeter New Zealand. Both organisations have exacting standards which are audited to international level and meet the stringent requirements needed to participate in these specialised markets. All wines are Produced and Bottled on the Property.
The majority of our wines are suitable for consumption by vegetarians and vegans.
For a mixed selection of wines do see our case specials.

2009 Les Trois Enfants
We all like to collect stuff. I have an affliction for grapevines. Les Trois Enfants - The Three Kids tells a little story. Displaying spice, ginger, and pear, waxy broad opulence with tremendous fruit weight and a rich aftertaste. A complete intoxication of a serious affliction.

2009 Merlot Rose Te Arai Vineyard
Every cultured society requires something light and colourful to sip in the less serious moments. Gisborne has the soil to grow, the sky in which to dream and the climate, for such a wine as our Merlot Rose, to be thoroughly enjoyed. |
|
2009 Muskats @ Dawn
In a typical Moscato d’Asti style this wine is light, fresh, fruity, low in alcohol and thoroughly drinkable. Intensely perfumed and quite exotic, this tantalising wine bursts with tropical fruit including melon and white peach.

2005 Opou Chardonnay Magnum 1.5L

|
2006 Te Arai Chenin Blanc Magnum 1.5L
A powerful ripe style, ocean fresh acidity, with aromas of waxy pears, quince. A nerve of fine acidity dances with the lineal minerality, which provides balance to the richness of fruit. Lanolin and honey will intensify over time.
